Anti-Corruption Song “Bhrashtacharko Chapetama Desh” Hem-Sarita Pathak Foundation
Kathmandu, Nepal — The Hem-Sarita Pathak Foundation, a prominent organization dedicated to education and social development in Nepal, officially released a new anti-corruption music video titled “Bhrashtacharko Chapetama Desh” (The Nation in the Grip of Corruption) at an event in iPlex Mall, Mid-Baneshwor, Kathmandu. Written by the foundation’s chief patron Hem Pathak, the song aims to raise awareness and inspire action against corruption in Nepal.
The launch event gathered notable personalities, including former Chief Secretary Lila Gadtoula and veteran artist Madan Krishna Shrestha as chief guests, alongside a distinguished panel of activists, artists, and intellectuals. This impactful song, featuring respected artists Kiran K.C., Kunti Moktan, and Shishir Yogi, highlights the ongoing fight against corruption and emphasizes the need for integrity in public office.
Hem Pathak delivered a powerful speech, reflecting on his long-standing commitment to anti-corruption efforts. He shared memories of organizing anti-corruption protests in Nepal over three decades ago, expressing that corruption should be tackled so vigorously that even the remains of corrupt leaders could symbolically be placed in prison. Pathak’s foundation has long been active in promoting transparency, education, and justice.
The event, hosted by Bibusa Basnet, also included remarks from Sarita Pathak, president of the Hem-Sarita Pathak Foundation, and special guests such as anti-corruption advocate Bharat Jangam, artist Madan Das Shrestha, and historian Prof. Dr. Surendra K.C. Advisors and dignitaries, including Rabindra Mishra, Rameshwar Phuyal, Bigyan Sharma, Ramesh Kharel, Devendra Sitaula, and Tirtha Koirala attended, along with former Ambassador Arjun Karki and other influential community members.
